Sounds like we've got a brony on our hands.
But you know what, I like the brony deal. I know a lot of people find it strange, but I welcome it. It's refreshing to see guys enjoying what is stereotyped as feminine, and not giving one damn. That shows such confidence and bravery in the face of other men.
As girls are so fiercely pressured to be feminine, men are expected to be so confined to the rules of masculinity that when they step outside of it, they are subject to ridicule.
With bronies, they're doing this blatantly in public, remorselessly and without bending or shrinking before the criticism of other guys. To me, that takes way more balls than what it takes to go around preaching your own masculinity or hiding behind that dated ideal. I raise my glass to the bronies for knockin down borders... because seeing now that ladies are able to work, wear slacks or whatever they like, it's far beyond time for guys to be able to enjoy that kind of freedom.
As for the pony show, I'm still sold to Twilight Sparkle. She is such an admirable character for the young, for so many of the apparent 'role models' I was presented with growing up were so lack lustre that I turned to the 'boy' shows... Spiderman and Gargoyles being amongst some of my favorite.
I definitely do love to see me some smiles, but I'm no party girl. If I go to one, I'm always the person at the party who is the last one standing... or holding the hair... or telling people the next morning what tomfoolery they got up to. I never throw parties though... I detest the mess and chaos of the morning after! I started working on a farm when I was 14 as there was no means to earn money before the age of 16 where I am. It was hard labour, but there was fresh air and great pay. The moment I became 16 I have been working ever since while in school, but my all time love is being in school. When I'm not there, I'm reading or learning from home. I spend so much time at the library, my current landlord jokes that I live there.
The other half of me is dedicated to my love of the arts, writing, reading, singing, dancing. It is very time consuming!
I never related to my peers, still don't. As a child, my best friends were an elderly couple that lived behind my house. Beyond that, my sisters. I am not scared to speak to people... I just do not have much in common with those of my age group, even now. I have always been told by adults that I speak like a "wise old women in a child's body". I'm a history fan, specifically 20th century, and Science is a huge passion of mine as well. So much a part of my life it has become that I have decided to do a double major with Biology.
I think the reason why i disliked Rarity so greatly is her vanity and her love of physical possessions. That is an abhorrent quality in any individual to me. I have taken to Applejack quite a bit, for her dedication to family, and her incredible work ethic. ^_^
Rainbow Dash reminds me of Sporty Spice- a lot of personality and energy, quite cocky, but she is endearing. She portrays such a zest for life, it's hard not to like her.
Fluttershy is still one of my favorite characters. Shyness is a trait I find irresistable in people, so much that I never date guys who come right up and ask me for my number- I always feel that they're good at it from practice.
I have always asked out shy guys, because they are quiet, typically well mannered and observe more than talk. I find the most insightful and some of the most intelligent company in shy individuals, and I love seeing them come out of their shell to show their quality.
Wow, we really love writing letters back and forth!
